Maine Grains Pearled Farro is made from spelt berries that have passed through our pearler (‘farro perlato’, as the Italians would call it) which removes a small portion of the seed’s outer bran layer. This dramatically reduces cooking time while retaining the rich flavor and nutrition that make whole grains so desirable. Use as you would rice as an addition to soups and salads or a hearty base to homemade grain bowls.
